James Thorley Counselling

Coronavirus Precautions

From Monday 6th July 2020, subject to any changing government advice, limited face to face counselling appointments will recommence. Online and telephone counselling appointments will still be available. The procedure is as follows-

Please arrive on time. When you arrive, the gate will remain open and I will open the office door for you on arrival and again at the end of the session. Hand sanitiser gel will be available for you to use on entry and exit. I will be ensuring a high standard of hygiene at all times; any touch points will be wiped down between clients. Individually bottled water and tissue packs will be available, but feel free to provide your own. A toilet is available for use if needed with antibacterial hand wash and paper towels provided. This space will be cleaned after any use.

For new clients a counselling agreement will be sent via email to make this process paper free. The counselling chairs will be placed 2 meters apart so we can sit together at an appropriate distance and the room will be ventilated as much as possible with windows and doors if preferred open. It is advisable to refrain from shaking hands.

If you develop symptoms such as a cough or temperature please follow NHS advice, do not attend your session and please make contact to let me know. There will be no charge for cancelling sessions within 24 hours if you are concerned you are showing any symptoms of Coronavirus. If I develop symptoms or need to self-isolate, I will let you know. If government advice changes or you or I need to self-isolate, it is possible for counselling to continue either online or by phone. I would encourage clients if you are able, to continue to work remotely wherever possible.

Coronavirus confidentiality clause

In the event I should test positive for Coronavirus I will be obliged to inform the NHS of anyone I have been in contact with. This would mean sharing your name and contact details (but not in the context in which I know you) Confidentiality would therefore need to be broken in this instance under reasons of public health.

Please voice any concerns at any time. Assuring you of my best attentions at all times.

James.
